We will be dealing with TWO methods which are: –

  • Recover Lost Password through E-mail.
  • Recover Lost Password through MyphpAdmin.

METHOD 1: – RESET LOST PASSWORD THROUGH E-MAIL.

For you to use this method, you need to have access to the E-mail you used to register for your WordPress when setting up your WordPress Website.

STEPS TO FOLLOW: –

STEP 1: –

Open your browser and type https://domain.com/wp-admin into the address box. Then click on the “Lost your password?” link at the bottom.

STEP 2: –

This will direct you to where you will enter your username or email address of your WordPress administrator account. Click on “Get New Password” and you will receive a link to create a new password via your E-mail.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed your WordPress password using E-mail.

METHOD 2: – RESET LOST PASSWORD THROUGH MYPHPADMIN.

Have you given up on recovering your lost password just because you don’t have access to your E-mail?

Don’t lose hope, there is a way out. This method is for those that doesn’t have access to their E-mail.

STEP 1: –

Log on to the cPanel dashboard of your WordPress hosting account, then click on the phpMyAdmin icon under the database section.

STEP 2: –

This will launch the phpMyAdmin app where you need to select your WordPress database.

STEP 3: –

Quickly stroll your cursor down and Click on Browse when wp_users is located.

STEP 4: –

Go ahead and click on the Edit button next to the username where you want to change the password.

STEP 5: –

You will need to delete the value in the user_pass field and replace it with your new password. Under the function column, select MD5 from the drop-down menu and click on the Go button.

Congratulations! You have successfully changed your WordPress password using phpMyAdmin.
